FOOD & DRINK | Golden Milk Latte
There is something about warm weather that makes me crave iced coffee, but the moment the weather takes a turn for the cold, I love a good frothy latte. Matcha, Golden Milk, Adaptogenic Elixirs... I'm all about it. (Except actual lattes. They hurt my stomach. Even dairy-free. Weird, I know.)
If you are new to the Golden Milk Latte, allow me to introduce you. It's one of my favorites and feeds my turmeric obsession. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory wunderkind and is great for maintaining hormone balance. You can supplement with it, but I prefer to incorporate it into my diet. And there is no better way than by whipping up a Golden Milk Latte. I jazz mine up with a few superfoods like collagen peptides and grass-fed butter, but milk and spices alone will do. Keep in mind that fat aids in turmeric's absorption though so if you have grass-fed butter on hand, toss a dollop in!
The spice blend that I use is made by local gem Big Heart Tea. Moon Deli makes a great version as well.
8-10 oz of milk, almond milk, coconut milk, etc. (approximately 1 coffee mug's worth)
1 tsp of Big Heart Tea Sunshine Dust
One scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
Dollop of grass-fed butter
Optional - honey to sweeten
Heat milk on the stove until it comes to a simmer. Blend warm milk and the remaining ingredients in the blender until frothy. Enjoy!
