Philosophy

Self-love is at the core of every client session. Offering internal and external guidance, I work to reframe and rebuild your relationship with your skin. Waging a topical war is a losing battle and will only leave you feeling disappointed and hopeless. Through diet and lifestyle modifications that address the root cause of skin frustrations, I help clients achieve real and lasting transformation. Ultimately, a true glow radiates from within.

 

My Story

I grew up just like you. I ate the same foods as you, followed the same diets as you, and shared the same general understanding of health as you. I carefully followed my doctors’ recommendations, took the Pill and other medications without hesitation, and accepted cramps and various PMS symptoms as part of being female. I experienced a few breakouts here and there, but I could easily cover them with tinted moisturizer and no one was the wiser. I was regularly complimented on my beautiful skin. It was part of my identity.

Until it wasn’t.

In my mid-20s, I ended my relationship with the Pill. Within 3 months, the beautiful skin that I had taken for granted for years vanished and was replaced by cystic acne, red, inflamed breakouts, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.  As a lawyer in Chicago who was routinely required to speak in front of large groups, it was absolutely devastating. I felt utterly and completely alone. I desperately made appointments with dermatologists, covered my skin in prescription products, and even went on Accutane. Nothing worked.

I was fed up and began researching alternative methods of healing. I cleaned up my diet, ditched dairy, flirted with going gluten-free, and cleared out all of the chemical-filled products lining my bathroom sink in favor of plant and herbal-based skincare. (In fact, I became so passionate about natural skincare and beauty that I launched my own plant-based apothecary, Seed to Serum!) I wish this was the end of my story, but sadly, the pieces just weren’t fitting into place.

Something was missing. I knew that my hormones weren’t balanced and I was still unable to manage my chronic stress. I decided to learn everything I possibly could about female hormonal health. I enrolled in school to be a holistic health coach, completed a rigorous hormonal apprenticeship, and devoured every book on the topic. I was committed to healing myself from within.

Slowly, I started seeing changes.  

I finally began to understand the critical roles that diet, stress management, emotional wellbeing, and choosing the right skincare play in maintaining glowing skin. Eliminating one food group or popping supplement after supplement is meaningless on its own. Incorporating strategic dietary and lifestyle changes is key. That’s when healing begins.

Over time, my passion for healing my own skin frustrations became my mission. I know the shattering effect that problem skin can have on self-esteem, self-image, and even self-worth. Through practical and sustainable solutions, my hope is to help you release the negative feelings you harbor about your own beauty and transform your health and skin in the process!

 

Qualifications


Megan Schwarz is an attorney turned female hormonal health advocate. She graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended law school at Washington University in St. Louis. In 2016, she trained at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to be a holistic health coach. She then completed a 6-month apprenticeship with Nicole Jardim (founder of the Fix Your Period series of programs) focused on women’s reproductive health. Additionally, she completed a 6-month apprenticeship with Brittany Wood Nickerson studying western herbalism and herbal medicine. She is currently training at The Integrative Women’s Health Institute with Jessica Drummond for her certification in women’s health and nutrition coaching. Through one-on-one sessions and group workshops, she offers clients dietary, lifestyle, and emotional support focused on inflammatory skin issues and hormonal imbalances.
